Follow your nose to the Pork in the Park BBQ Festival. This Eastern Shore staple is served up in Salisbury, Maryland’s WinterPlace Park. The festival offers three days of entertainment the whole family can enjoy – all for only $5 daily admission and children under 12 are free! Festival-goers can enjoy a weekend packed with live music, rides and games for the kids, unique craft vendors, delicious food and cold beverages. |
Featured Festival Activities and Entertainment
The festival is open from 4pm to 10pm on Friday, 10am to 10pm on Saturday and 11am to 6pm on Sunday. The Pork in the Park BBQ Festival is sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbecue Society and presented by Wicomico County Recreation, Parks and Tourism.
Eastern Shore Wing War
- People's Choice Wing Competition: Come out and vote for your favorite wing as restaurants face-off in this bracket-style contest.
- Amateur Wing-Eating Competition: Do you have what it takes to be a Wing Warrior? These amateurs think they do! Come out and cheer on your favorite as they vie for Warrior status and $100 cash.
- Major League Eating sanctioned Wing-Eating Competition: From the organizers of the Nathans' Famous Fourth of July International Hot Dog Eating Contest, comes the Pork in the Park Wing-Eating Competition. Professional eaters, including the current World Champion Joey Chestnut, will come together on the Pork in the Park main stage for a chance at victory and a portion of the $5000 cash prize purse provided by Mountaire Farms.
Cornhole Tournament
Whether you know it as cornhole, bag toss or one of its many other names – cornhole and BBQ are a perfect pair in the backyard.

KCBS Sanctioned BBQ Competition
Kansas City Barbeque Society, the world's largest organization of barbeque and grilling enthusiasts with over 14,000 members worldwide, has once again selected Pork in the Park as a host to one of its 300+ sanctioned BBQ cookoff competitions. Competing BBQ teams spend the weekend slicing, seasoning and sizzling pork, chicken and beef in hopes that their cooking will earn them a portion of the $20,000 in cash prizes and invaluable bragging rights on the Kansas City Barbeque Society (KCBS) BBQ Circuit. The competition decisions lie in the hands of the KCBS certified professional judges. Judging is done in many categories including whole hog, beef, chicken, pork, ribs, anything butt and a dessert category.
