KCBS Sanctioned BBQ Competition
Are you ready to compete with your succulent beef brisket? Is your whole hog to die for? We want you to compete in the Pork in the Park Barbeque Festival in Maryland. With over 100 competitors taking part in last year’s event, Pork in the Park is now the 2nd largest Kansas City Barbeque Society Sanctioned competition and the largest east of the Mississippi! THE KANSAS CITY BARBEQUE SOCIETY (KCBS), a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting and enjoying barbeque, is the world’s largest organization of barbeque and grilling enthusiasts with over 14,000 members worldwide. KCBS sanctions over 300 barbeque contests coast-to-coast throughout America. From volunteering to actual event production, our members also offer assistance to civic and charitable organizations who organize events. KCBS Rules and Regulations (PDF).

Smithfield Rib Super Series
The Smithfield Rib Super Series will be at Pork in the Park! Register today for your chance to win bonus prize money as a top three finisher in the Rib Category. In addition to bonus prize money, Smithfield® will provide two FREE racks of Smithfield spareribs to any registered team competing in the Smithfield Rib Super Series. Teams who wish to participate in the points chase will receive points based upon their finishing position at their best four events of the series. The three qualifying teams with the highest point total overall will win bonus Grand prize money out of the $15,200 prize purse. Register now at Smithfield Series Website

KCBS Sanctioned BBQ Competition
Competing BBQ teams spend the weekend slicing, seasoning and sizzling pork, chicken and beef in hopes that their cooking will earn them a portion of the cash prizes and invaluable bragging rights on the Kansas City Barbeque Society (KCBS) BBQ Circuit. The barbeque competition decisions lie in the hands of the KCBS certified professional judges. BBQ competition judging is done in many categories including whole hog, beef, chicken, pork, ribs, anything butt and a dessert category.
